The National Nature Park “Pripyat-Stokhid”

National Nature Park “Pripyat-Stokhid” is situated in Lyubeshivsky district of Volyn’ region. A number of preserves were created on this territory in eightieths. 

A regional landscape park “Pripyat-Stokhid” united the majority of reserve territories in 1995. On 13th of August, 2007 a National Nature Park “Pripyat-Stokhid” was established. It has merged all protected areas of Lyubeshiv district. 

There are a lot of wild nature places situated within the Park. While the most picturesque spots appear along the banks of two rivers: Pripyat and Stohid. The latest has a symbolic name, which accurately characterizes it in Ukrainian: “river of one hundred passages”. Mentioned rivers are known for dozens of horns, stream canals with swamped islands.

Overview of Pripyat-Stokhod NNP 

- Total area is 40,000 ha;

- Unique nature complex of untouched forests, bogs and lakes;

- Beautiful landscapes down the Pripyat river (dozens of river-beds, arms,creeks, sand islands etc.);

- Wild nature;

- Place of wild bird seasonal migration;

- Wetlands of global importance;

- Hospitable and open people. 

Recreation: 

- canoe-paddling and motorboating down the Pripyat and Stokhod rivers;

- amateur and sport fishing, mushroom and berry hunting;

- horse riding, biking, hiking;

- wild bird watching (186 species totally, more than 20 Red Book Species);

- rural (green) tourism, honey collection etc.
